Description
Successful weed management begins with correct identification. This hands-on workshop will develop practical skills for identifying weeds commonly found in managed turfgrass systems.
Participants will examine live specimens and use plant morphology, growth habit, life cycle, and site characteristics to distinguish grasses, sedges, and broadleaf weeds and differentiate commonly confused species.
Interactive identification exercises will emphasize a systematic approach to diagnosing unfamiliar weeds and demonstrate the importance of accurate identification when making pest management and pesticide-use decisions.
